Our core standards have not changed but our schedule and world situation have. In the past if you scored 10 points at a varsity competition, and stayed in good standing with the athletic code, you lettered. This is relatively easy if you are currently a great track athlete, it is more difficult if your abilities are currently at the JV level, and just right if you are that person in between trying to make the conference team. In a normal year coaches discretion would come into play for those people who may have come up a point or two short by the end of the year. With the reduced schedule, 10 points and good standing is still an automatic letter, but there will be a bit more discretion at the end of this season.
